Towards Australia's Blue Economy

The National Marine Science Plan 2015 - 2025 identified a gap in the skills and training of marine scientists, such as the need for more quantitative and cross disciplinary skills in the workforce. A Working Group of the National Marine Science Committee (NMSC), chaired by AMSA member Professor Helene Marsh, was established to explore solutions to align marine science training with the needs of industry and government. AMSA played a key role on the Working Group with representation by successive presidents - Professor Lynnath Beckley, Associate Professor Will Figueira and Dr Penny Berents.

These reports, produced by the NMSC, are available to AMSA members.
