Maps & Transport

From Sydney Airport by public transport, there are two easy ways - by train or bus.

Leisure Coast Limousine Services (02 4261 7393) offer a great service - book (online or phone) and they will meet your flight and drive you to Wollongong for $50. Note that there is no EFTPOS on the vehicle so you have to pay beforehand (online or by phone) or cash at the time.

Alternatively, get a train from the airport (approx. $20, 2.15 hrs).
W'gong North or University Station is closest to the University, but Wollongong is closest to the city centre.
The above link gives a step by step description from the Cityrail trip planner, but basically the options are:

  • Airport to Central (12mins), change to the South Coast line to Wollongong.
  • Airport, South Line to Wolli Creek Station (2 mins), change to the South Coast line to W'gong.

Train information & trip planner is at: www.cityrail.info/timetables.

The University of Wollongong and Innovations Campus

UOW Campus: Northfields Avenue, Gwynneville NSW

The Wollongong campus is nestled beside the F6 freeway, allowing easy access for travel by car or motorcycle. All local bus operators also provide routes to and from it. The campus is just a 5 minute walk from the North Wollongong train station and a campus shuttle bus service connects regularly to it.

For transport around Wollongong, there is a free Gong Shuttle, providing around-Wollongong services which include the CBD, University and Innovations Campus.

The conference will be held in the McKinnon Building (Bldg 67), with concurrent sessions in the nearby Communications Building (Bldg 20).
