Membership Information - FAQ
To become a member of AMSA, please create a login on this site - click 'Not yet a member' on the left menu, create your own username and password, return the validation email (which will be sent to the email address you enter), then enter your address details. After validation of your login, the application/renewal form will be available on the menu in the right hand margin. This form gives you the option to pay online or print the form and post your payment in your preferred format.
If this is not possible, please email for a form to be faxed to you. However, online application/renewal is preferred.
New applications require a nominator - who can be any current AMSA member. The nominator's AMSA Member ID is required. If not known, it is available when the member logs in to the site and is displayed at the top of the screen. If you are applying or renewing as a student member, your supervisor's email is also required, and it is necessary for the supervisor to respond to the email received by clicking the link.
AMSA's fiscal year is from 1st June - 31st May, and membership is on an annual basis, renewable on 1st June each year. New members joining after 1st March each year have the option not to take up membership until the next financial year, in which case their membership is financial until 31st May the following year.
Renewal Notices are not mailed out, but reminder emails are sent. As soon as your payment is processed, a TAX INVOICE (linked from an email) is sent to you.
LOGIN ID AND PASSWORD are created by new applicants themselves. Renewing members have a log in ID created by them, or perhaps try your initial, or the first two letters of your first name, and your surname. If the latter, your password is set as the same, so please change this on first login.]
