Induction Package for New Councillors
At its February 2003 meeting, AMSA Council agreed that it should develop a simple induction package that could be provided to new Councillors. The following package was proposed by Gordon Anderson at the AMSA Council Meeting July 2003.
Functions of Package:
To assist new Council members through the provision of information on AMSA objectives and functions, Constitution and its administrative and other formal and informal processed.
Package Inclusions:
The history of the formation and development of the Association
AMSA Constitution and Association objectives
The new Strategic Framework for 2010 to 2115 as defined by AMSA Council in July 2010
Roles of the Council and its members
Branch and affiliated organisations and contact names and addresses
Administrative procedures for Council members, including travel reimbursement, where not covered more formally by the Constitution or other documents
Current Council processes and procedures
Annual Conference cycle - planning and funding implications
Recent AMSA and branch initiatives and actions
