Dr Fred Wells
AMSA President 2006-8, past AMSA Treasurer and AMSA Councillor since 1992
Dr Fred Wells has been active in AMSA for a number of years, and is currently national President. He has been on Council for the last thirteen years and was national treasurer for 4 of those years. Fred has also been active in the WA Branch and has served as branch President, Treasurer and has been on the branch committee. He chaired the organisational committee for the 1992 national conference and was on the organisational committee for the 2002 conference, and compiled the conference abstract book. Fred was the original person behind the AMSA(WA) international marine biological workshop series and was the lead organiser for workshops in Albany, Rottnest Island (2 workshops), Houtman Abrolhos Islands, Dampier and Esperance. The workshops have resulted in 11 volumes on WA Marine science. Similar workshops were held in Darwin in 1993 and Moreton Bay, Queensland in 2005.
